Pianist Gottlieb Wallisch includes a delightful rendition of the original piano version of Dimitri Tiomkin’s Créoles Blues on the Grand Piano label release, 20^th Century Foxtrots, volume 3: Central and Eastern Europe. To show the influence of American jazz on composers from other parts of the world, Wallisch highlights music by more than a dozen composers, notably Alexandre Tansman and Eugene Zador. The nearly three-minute-long work by Tiomkin dates from 1927 and is performed on a Steinway Model D. The recording was released in October and is catalog number GP854.
