Don’t miss John Brunning’s show, “The Official Classic FM Chart” on Sunday, July 15, 5-7 p.m. This will be your first chance to hear a track on the radio from the LSO Live disc, “Dimitri Tiomkin: The Greatest Film Scores.” The LSO’s album of Tiomkin’s music is John’s chart prediction for future glory. The CD is scheduled for release in the UK on July 30.

The recording took place last October at the Barbican with the London Symphony Orchestra and London Voices conducted by Richard Kaufman and vocals by Whitney Claire Kaufman and Andrew Playfoot. The recording was produced by James Mallinson, with balance engineer Neil Hutchinson for Classic Sound Ltd.

UPDATE (after the program aired): Listeners to John Brunning’s show, in addition to learning the Top 30 Classical CDs for the week, were treated to The Four Poster. Olivia Tiomkin Douglas was thrilled to hear Brunning introduce the LSO Live CD with Dimitri’s music on Classic FM. Brunning announced that the CD will be released on 30th July and he said that he was backing it to do well.
