Zala was a businessman in Spain associated with the fishing industry with connections to Conrad Hilton and others and was a friend of the Spanish dictator, General Francisco Franco. Prior to obtaining Spanish citizenship in 1945, Andrés was known as Andor, and among his many pursuits he sold Fox Film Corp. movies in Berlin during the 1930s.
